Summary

Clipwell is designed as a local-first clipboard utility for macOS and Windows. Clipboard history is stored on your device so you can search, preview, edit, translate, and restore recent clips.

Data Collection

Clipwell does not require an account and does not upload clipboard contents to a Clipwell server. The macOS and Windows store versions do not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Website Analytics

The Clipwell website may use privacy-conscious operational analytics to understand page traffic, referrers, and download requests. Download tracking records limited request metadata such as date, referring site origin, campaign parameters, approximate country, and Cloudflare request identifiers. It does not collect clipboard contents, app data, account data, or precise device identifiers.

Local Clipboard History

When clipboard monitoring is enabled, Clipwell reads the system clipboard and stores supported clipboard items locally on your device. You can pause monitoring, ignore selected apps, limit history length, and clear history from the app.

Optional AI Actions

Clipwell can translate, summarize, or rewrite selected clipboard text through the OpenAI-compatible endpoint configured by the user. An action sends only the selected text and action prompt to that endpoint. Clipwell does not operate a separate AI cloud service for clipboard history.
